Course Overview

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) course is a teaching qualification in the Further Education (FE) sector, designed to prepare a person who is new to teaching or training, or considering taking on a role as a teacher or trainer. It is the first of a number of qualifications that have been designed to give a teacher or trainer the ‘building blocks’ to become more skilled in their role.

We can offer both in-person and online classroom delivery options.

The course consists of 3 units:

Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training
Using and Understanding Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and Training
Understanding Assessment in Education and Training

Course Requirements

There are no specific requirements for this course, however, learners should be capable of studying at Level 3.

Maths and English at Level 2 are desirable as well as a satisfactory level of IT skills.

How long is this course?

The duration depends on the delivery model. The distance learning course is flexible and self-paced and usually takes around 6 months to complete. The classroom course is delivered over 5 days, and it takes learners roughly 2 weeks – 1 month to submit all assessments.
