Course Overview

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) is a teaching qualification in the Further Education (FE) sector designed to meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers or trainers. The course consists of 5 mandatory units and an optional unit pathway, suited to your intended role and skill development.

The mandatory units are:

Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training
Planning to Meet the Needs of Learners in Education and Training
Delivering Education and Training
Assessing Learners in Education and Training
Using Resources for Education and Training

Course Requirements

For this course you will need to have the opportunity to deliver teaching or training in order to fulfil the following requirements:

Evidence of 30 hours of teaching practice (authenticated).
3 observations of teaching (these can be conducted by a suitably qualified and experienced supervisor/mentor within your organisation or a Maxam Training tutor).
Maths and English at Level 2 are desirable.
