LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING (DET)
The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) was introduced in the summer of 2014 as a replacement for the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector or DTLLS qualification.
The Diploma in Education and Training qualification is very similar in most aspects to the former DTLLS but has a revised set of units which better reflect the requirements of modern teaching within the FE and Skills Sector of education.
The Diploma in Education and Training has been designed to meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers including:
- Trainee teachers who are currently in a full/part time, or occasional teaching role and who can meet the qualification teaching practice requirements.
- Assessors wishing to attain a teaching qualification who can meet the qualification teaching practice requirements.
Progression details-
Learners who achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and who are progressing to higher education accredited qualifications at Level 6 or above may have their level 5 credit recognised in line with the higher education institution’s arrangements for the recognition of prior learning.
